BREAKING: INEC officials held hostage in Bayelsa

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed it’s officials are currently being held hostage in Bayelsa.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) report INEC made this known on Sunday while calling on security agencies to intervene in the situation.

According to the electoral umpire, the officials are being held hostage in Brass local government area of Bayelsa State.

A statement posted on X by INEC reads: “The Commission is closely watching the situation in Brass LGA of Bayelsa State where our officials are held hostage.

“This is detrimental to credible elections. We call on the security agencies to immediately facilitate their release”.

TNG reports the collation of election results in Bayelsa have been twice suspended.
