The Supreme Court of Nigeria has fixed Thursday December 21st for the hearing of appeals in the Kano State governorship tussle.
Bashir Tudun Waziri, the counsel to the governor said a hearing of notice was given to the legal team concerning the chosen date.
Recall that Appeal Court declared Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the 2023 governorship election.
Governor Kabir Abba Yusuf of Kano State is contesting the Appeal Court ruling that sacked him as governor.
A three-member panel of the court had said the governor was not a registered member of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, when he contested for the governorship election.
But a Certified True Copy of the judgement that surfaced later gave a contrary view.
The court, however, clarified that the discrepancy was a typographical error.
