Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and The Weeknd were amongst the top winners at the 2021 Brit Awards.
The annual British award, for which Burna Boy was earlier nominated, held at the O2 Arena, a multi-purpose indoor arena in the centre of The O2 entertainment complex on the Greenwich Peninsula in southeast London.
It included live performances from a group of prominent musicians including Dua Lipa; Elton John & Years and Years; Coldplay, who performed from a boat on the Thames outside the arena.
J Hus won the award for ‘Male Solo Artist’, while Dua Lipa picked up the ‘Female Solo Artist’. The International categories were won by The Weeknd and Billie Eilish respectively, with Haim named ‘Best International Group’.
Burna Boy, who was nominated in the same international category as TheWeeknd, lost to the canadian R&B singer.
Taylor Swift, in turn, set a record after she picked up the ‘Global Icon award’ to become the first female artiste to do so.
