Carabao Cup: Manchester United coast home to victory, wins first title in six years

Manchester United won the English Football League Cup after defeating hard fighting Newcastle united by 2-0 in a thrilling encounter.

The Red Devils  ended its  six-year trophy drought as they nick their second Carabao title in years.

Following Nick Pope’s suspension, Second choice goalie, Martin Dubravka is  cup-tied and Karl Darlow out on loan, former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius started the game  ahead of Mark Gillespie  for magpies.

However two first-half goals from Casemiro and a rave of the moment Rashford intercepted shot ensured Manchester United won its first title in Five years.

Newcastle’s League Cup journey ends in defeat after a difficult afternoon for them against an impressive Man United team that looked comfortable throughout 90 minutes.

It’s Manchester United’s sixth League Cup and brings the Red Devils into third place all-time for tournament titles behind Liverpool (9) and Man City (8).
