CDS Musa on Ekpa’s extradition to Nigeria: ‘I’m happy with his arrest in Finland’

The Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, Gen Chris Musa, has reacted to the arrest of Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government in Exile.

The CDS said he’s happy with Ekpa’s arrest in Finland.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Brig Gen Tukur Gusau.

Ekpa was arrested and remanded in detention by Finnish authorities over alleged links with terrorism.

“CDS is happy with his (Ekpa) arrest in Finland, with the hope this will be a step towards his extradition to Nigeria so that he will face justice,” the statement said.

The court in Finland reportedly said Ekpa allegedly spread separatist propaganda on social media.

It was reported that Ekpa allegedly committed the crime on 23 August 2021 in Lahti.
