Oghenekowhoyan Onaibe, popular Nigerian comedian Desmond, widely known as Destalker, has confirmed the end of his three-year marriage, opening up about his personal struggles, infidelity, and the lessons he’s learned.
In a candid interview with content creator Timi Agbaje, Destalker admitted that he was unfaithful during his marriage but maintained that his ex-wife never caught him cheating.
“No, I Wasn’t Faithful”
During the sit-down, Agbaje asked, “During your past marriage, were you faithful 100%?” To which the comedian replied, “No.”
He was then asked if his ex-wife ever caught him in the act, and he responded, “No.”
This revelation has stirred widespread conversation on social media, as fans react to the comedian’s bold honesty about one of the most private aspects of his life.
The stand-up comedian also confirmed that the marriage officially ended after three years, adding that the union did not produce any children. He cited irreconcilable differences as the primary reason for the divorce, noting that both parties decided to go their separate ways peacefully.
“We dated for just six months before marriage. It was too early,” he noted.
“I Am Happy… Marriage Is Not a Criterion for a Happy Home”
Despite the end of his marriage, Destalker emphasized that he is at peace and has no regrets. In fact, he says he’s happier now than ever.
“I am happy. I have a happy home. I was married but not anymore. Marriage is not a criterion for happiness. A lot of people are in marriages and are sad.”
One of the most controversial parts of the interview was his statement that marriage favors women more than men. He argued that men can easily decide when to remarry, while women face more social and emotional barriers.
“Marriage benefits women more. I can decide to remarry next week Friday or Saturday. But a woman can’t. It’s a man’s decision for marriage.”
Although he remains optimistic about the future, Destalker said he is not currently open to any new romantic relationships. According to him, he’s taking time to focus on personal growth and living life on his own terms.
“Right now, I’m not thinking of love or relationship. I’m just enjoying my life.”
