Delta nursing students ‘controversial’ welcome song for First lady, Remi Tinubu sparks reactions (Watch)

The students of Delta State school of Nursing, Agbor are currently trending on social media due to their controversial “welcome” song for Nigeria’s First Lady and wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

TheNewsGuru had earlier reported that Mrs Tinubu on Tuesday visited Delta State, in her advocacy for free treatment programmes for Human Immunodeficiency Virus/ Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, HIV/AIDS patients in the country.

The senator while speaking to Delta State Traditional Rulers Council in Asaba, highlighted the impact of HIV/AIDS, especially among young people.

She encouraged traditional rulers to help spread awareness and advocate for health issues, including the elimination of female genital mutilation.

However, what caught the attention of many Nigerians, is the way the students welcomed the First Lady during the occasion.

In the viral video, the Master of ceremony (MC) ascribed the First lady as the mother of the nation, using a song. However, the students sarcastically, rejected the proclaimation, rather referring the first lady as only the MC’s mother.
