Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has chastised Midfielder, Rodri for bagging a redcard in City’s 2-0 triumph of Nottingham Forest on Saturday at the Etihad.
Referee Paul Tierney wasted no time in flashing Rodri a red card barely a minute into the second half, after he shoved Morgan Gibbs-White in the neck.
The Spanish midfielder is now set for a three-match ban, which will include a trip to rivals Arsenal.
“Hopefully, Rodri will learn,” said Guardiola.
“Rodri has to control himself and his emotion. That is what he has to do. I can get a yellow card, Rodri cannot get a yellow card because they are inside the pitch.
“I said at half-time, ‘Be careful, guys. Be careful’. Unfortunately, we could not do it. Rodri could not do it.”
When asked if Rodri had let him down, Guardiola replied: “Yeah. I don’t like to play with 10 because it is our fault.”
