Nottingham Forest head coach. Steve Cooper has heaped praises on Nigerian forward, Taiwo Awoniyi for his superb display and the two goals he grabbed against Chelsea.
Awoniyi’s two goals helped Nottingham stay afloat relegation zone in the English Premier League game at Stamford Bridge.
It was the first time the Nigeria international will be scoring back-to-back braces in his professional career having scored twice in Forest’s 4-3 victory against Southampton last Monday.
The forward got the first from a header on 13 minutes following a howler from Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy.
“He (Awoniyi) scored with his head as well which we were very pleased with that. We talked about it and there was a chance at Brentford that we thought he could have done better with, so it was good that he got the two goals. Especially the first one, I think he showed good bravery,” Cooper told Premier League Productions.
