A female suicide bomber on Saturday night (new year’s eve) blew up herself few minutes to the new year in a failed attempt to target crowd gathered at a junction.

The lone female suicide bomber had targeted a crowd at a tea joint, in Custom area of Maiduguri, opposite Sanda Kyarimi Primary School.
A police source who spoke on condition of anonymity, however confirmed to newsmen that those within the area, who were suspicious of her movement, took to their heels as she was trying to detonate the bomb.

The source said there was no other casualty, as only the suicide bomber killed herself in the blast.
