Recall the FG announced the free train service to end on January 4th, 2024.

This is with the view to reduce the burden of high cost of public transportation during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) had disclosed that over 163,000 Nigerians benefited from the free train service.

The extension, according to the FG, is in further demonstration of Tinubu’s care for the welfare of Nigerians.

“The public is advised to note that this extension applies to all three routes currently being serviced by the Nigerian Railway Corporation as follows: Lagos-Ibadan, Warri-Itakpe and Abuja-Kaduna.

“It is hoped that Nigerians who are interested in travelling by rail will take full advantage of this unique opportunity aimed at enhancing people’s welfare,” a statement by the government reads.
