Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi on Tuesday said the cost of running government in Nigeria is unacceptable.
Peter Obi who made the remarks at a symposium in Lagos tagged, Young and Emerging Leaders stated that our institutions are not properly run while advising that there are better ways to cut costs in order to make the system efficient.
“We shouldn’t have borrowed money to rehabilitate a terminal when we could have made the existing ones more efficient” He said
He also lamented that Nigeria is the only country where government privatized public companies by giving it to people.
Also speaking on transparency in government Obi opiransparency and openness is fundamental to democracy stressing that we have not been transparent nor open.
