Guiness World Record: OAU student begins 50-hour hand wash-a-thon challenge

A student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, Osun State identifed as Enitan Subair has commenced a 50-hour hand wash-a-thon on Friday to set a new Guinness World Record.

Findings show that she had notified the GWR in June 2023 of her intentions and was given November 24 to embark on her attempt.

Subair who is studying Linguistics and African Languages has the backing of the university’s student union.

Speaking before she officially started washing clothes, Subair expressed optimism that she would finish strong as the title holder of the longest hand-washing hours.

Abbas Akinremi-Ojo, the OAU Student Union president has reiterated the SUG’s support including an ambulance and lighting, among other logistics, has been put in place to ensure she wins the challenge.

Moreso, the school management, represented by the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor John Odedire, said the institution is ready to give all it takes to ensure she clinches the record.
