Gunmen storm Celestial Church, kidnap 2 members in Ogun

Oriyarin village, Mowe in the Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State was on Thursday thrown into pandemonium when gunmen invaded a Celestial Church of Christ  and kidnapped two worshippers during a week day service.

The police public relations officer of the state, Omolola Odutola, while confirming the incident, identified the victims as Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.

According to Odutola, the gunmen escaped through a thick forest behind the church after the abduction.

“On March 28, 2024, unidentified gunmen invaded a Celestial church around Oriyarin village, Mowe, and abducted one Oladapo Seyifunmi and one Oluboboye Abiola, and escaped through the thick forest behind the church,” she said.

Odutola added that the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, is aware of the incident and has ordered officers of the command to track down the abductors and rescue the hostages.
