Halle Bailey, the star of Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid,” has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.), with whom she shares a 17-month-old son, Halo.
The order, issued by a Los Angeles court on May 13, 2025, follows Bailey’s allegations of multiple instances of physical and emotional abuse after their separation in October 2024.
Bailey alleges that the abuse started in January 2025 when DDG became agitated during a custody exchange involving Halo. According to Bailey, DDG yelled at her pulled, her hair, and slammed her face into the steering wheel, resulting in a chipped tooth and bruises on her arm. Photographic evidence of these injuries was provided in her restraining order request.
In another incident in March, Bailey claims DDG entered her home without permission, took a photo of her bed, and sent it to her with the message “now I know what u been on lol,” which she interpreted as an accusation of infidelity.
The court has mandated DDG to stay at least 100 yards away from both Bailey and Halo, prohibited him from possessing firearms, and forbade any form of contact or abuse. Additionally, the court granted Bailey permission to take Halo with her to Italy for a two-month film shoot. A hearing in the case is set for June 6, where the court will determine whether to extend the restraining order for up to five years.
Bailey stated in court documents, “Throughout our relationship, Daryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me. I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son Halo from his ongoing abuse.” DDG has not publicly responded to the allegations or the restraining order
