Happening Now! Nigerians protest against 16 years benchmark for admission into varsities

Nigerians on Tuesday stormed the headquarters, of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB, Lagos zonal office protesting against 16 years benchmark for admission into tertiary institutions.

In a video sighted by TheNewsGuru.com, TNG, the protesters carrying different placards displaying various graffittis registered their anger against the benchmark.

Some of the placards bore “No to JAMB injustice” and other unprintable graffiti.

TNG recalls that the 16 years benchmark for admission into tertiary institutions would take effect this September ( Academic Session).

The Federal Government officially announced last July that students below the age of 16 will no longer be given admission into the nations’ tertiary institutions.

The Minister Of Education, Tunji Alausa, revealed this development while speaking at the policy meeting of the Joint Admissions and Mstriculations Board in Abuja.

This development drew flaks from parents but Federal Government stuck to its guns.
