Founder and head of the African Evangelical franchise Liberty Foundation Gospel Ministries, Evangelist Helen Ukpabio, has faced heavy backlash on her 60th birthday over her controversial teachings.

Trouble started after a fast-growing singer, Bloody Civilian, publicly called out the preacher on her 60th birthday, accusing her of causing pain and violence against children.

She wrote: “She made people burn their children alive.”

In response to the post, the Daughter of Nigerian witch hunter Ima in the city went head to head with the singer, causing an exchange.

She responded, saying, “You are an idiot.. you are a bloody idiot to disrespect my mother, who is a great influence on the culture you now benefit from! Bloody unwise of you, child.”

In response, the singer wrote: “You are free to have your perspective. But before you cook me, you will cook the UK border control for throwing her out while she was on vacation, Sahara reporters for asking her why she’s evil and the journalists at the DW documentary for asking her to stop killing children.”

Helen’s daughter, in defence wrote: “Shush! It’s not my POV! This is my reality!!! So maybe you are less likely to tell me about my mum! No reasonable person takes news from Sahara Reporters! Jesus! ABC! Please go and research! Because I cant come back to this BS.”

Following the evangelist’s daughter’s response, Nigerians slammed her in retaliation and began to present hard evidence of the preacher’s controversial teachings, which allegedly led to the torture of children, including infants and toddlers suspected of being witches.

Sugabelly wrote: “Your mother Helen Ukpabio is a dumb brain dead bitch who needs to burn in earthly fire because we really cannot wait for her to die to go to hell. You have no thought for all the children she accused of being witches and how the suffered on the basis of her accusations. Fuck her.”

One user, Queenbee_shellz wrote: “Yes she’s guilty, she cause a lot of havoc in akwa ibom state it’s not even a joke. There are still kids roaming the streets of Awka ibom state, whose parents rejected at tender age….I kid you not. She can’t travel to some countries because of it…. Her daughter can insult everyone, but the truth is the truth. May the souls of all the kids who didn’t survive the torture and rejection in the name of being witches and wizards rest in peace amen.”

Helen Ukpabio is head of the African Evangelical  Liberty Foundation Gospel Ministries based in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. She is widely accused of causing large-scale harassment and violence against children accused of witchcraft.

In her 1999 controversial movie “End of the Wicked,” Ms. Ukpabio showed how the “dęvil” captures children’s souls.

And some have read her book “Unveiling the Mysteries of Witchcraft,” where she confidently writes that “if a child under the age of 2 screams in the night, cries and is always feverish with deteriorating health, he or she is a servant of Satan.”
