Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has pledged to continue to serve Deltans according to God’s will, calling for support from the people, particularly in praying for the government to succeed.

The Governor stated this in his remarks at the Heroes of Faith Ministries, Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area, where he worshipped on Sunday.

Governor Oborevwori who was welcomed with enthusiasm by the congregation, disclosed that his visit was a surprise, even to his aides, saying; “I told our Lord Bishop that when I will come, I will come unannounced”.

He said his decision to visit the church unannounced was a reflection of his genuine desire to listen to the word of God.

Governor Oborevwori thanked Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi for his support and endorsement during  the 2023 election, despite facing criticism from some quarters.

He said: “People criticized you that you were a betrayal because you followed God and openly supported me”.

The Governor highlighted the flyover projects and other development strides across the State as evidence of his government’s commitment to delivering tangible results.

“The evidence today is the flyover. When you are talking, you will say that the person God led me to support brought this flyover, and people will respect you more because you did the right thing”, he said.

While saying that his administration under his MORE agenda has been working tirelessly to deliver development projects and improve the lives of Deltans, the Governor reiterated his commitment to serving the people of Delta State.

“I want to assure you that we will continue to serve you according to the will of God. Continue to pray for us to succeed, especially those of us in power, so that we are not distracted,” he said.

Earlier, Bishop Kingsley Enakirehi praised Governor Oborevwori for his development strides across the three senatorial districts, describing him as a detribalized Deltan who has transcended ethnic boundaries to serve the people

The Bishop expressed his profound appreciation for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s leadership, particularly highlighting the Governor’s impressive infrastructural development initiatives across the State.

He described Governor Oborevwori as a man of speed who matches his words with action, noting that the Governor’s infrastructure strides, including the recent approval for the construction of a flyover at Otovwodo junction in Ughelli, are a testament to his result-oriented leadership.

The Bishop also commended the Governor for awarding contracts for road construction in the area, which has brought joy to the people, emphasizing that the best way the Governor had silenced his critics was with tangible projects.

The Cleric also commended the Ughelli North Local Council chairman, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, for his leadership.

In a sermon titled “Living for Christ” the Bishop called for repentance, calling those still perpetuating evil and wickedness to encounter Christ.

The Bishop concluded his sermon by praying for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, asking for God’s guidance and blessings as they work towards more development and progress.
