I’m apologising for saying, you won’t make heaven for not paying tithe – Pastor Adeboye tells congregation

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has apologized to his congregation for saying that Christians who don’t pay tithe might not make heaven.

The clergyman had earlier claimed that those who were not paying tithes might not make heaven, adding that tithes were one of the prerequisites for going to heaven.

However, during a recent church programme, Pastor Adeboye, in the context of a discussion on biblical principles, apologized for his earlier comment, acknowledging it as a ‘mistake.’

The cleric emphasized that the Bible admonishes for peaceful and holy living, which he noted were the proper prerequisites for making heaven.

In his words: “I am going to be talking to everybody as soon as God permits me, I am going to apologise for making a mistake for saying that if you don’t pay tithe, you will not be making it to Heaven. That is wrong.

“That is not in the Bible. What the Bible says is to make peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see God. What the Bible says is, to follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man will make heaven.”
