The Delta State Government has suspended its First Class Graduate Scholarship Scheme because of what it described as ‘the prevailing economic situation bedeviling the state.’
This was released in a letter by the Delta State Scholarship Board to all beneficiaries of the scheme.

The letter, dated 27th September obtained exclusively by TheNewsGuru.com was signed by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Comrade Elijah Ologe.
The Board noted that despite the fact that it was aware that some beneficiaries depended solely on the funds to run their education in their various tertiary institutions, it has no option but to suspend the scheme as the state government can no longer afford to fund it.
