Sanwo-Olu signs Lagos 2022 budget of N1.758 trillion into law

JUST IN: APC Governance Advisory Council okays Sanwo-Olu for second term

The Governance Advisory Council (GAC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has okayed the incumbent State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for second term.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the Council, which is the apex body within the State APC, approved second term for Sanwo-Olu at its meeting at the State House, Marina.

Sanwo-Olu’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile made this known on Monday, adding that the Governor was also given a pass mark for staying true to the developmental agenda of Lagos.

“Breaking news: Lagos GAC gives nod to Governor @jidesanwoolu’s second term bid. The Governance Advisory Council at a meeting in Lagos today gave pass mark to Sanwo-Olu for staying true to the developmental agenda of Lagos. Congratulations dear boss,” Akosile stated via Twitter.

TNG recalls Sanwo-Olu’s predecessor, former Governor Akinwumi Ambode failed to secure a second term in office because he fell out of favour with the party’s structure and GAC members.

This is despite popular sentiments that Ambode performed very well enough in office to deserve a second term.

Meanwhile, Sanwo-Olu was yet to say anything about running for a second term and has not picked his nomination form for the election, apparently waiting for the official endorsement of the party chieftains.
