Keke rider returns ₦4m forgotten by woman in Abia

A tricycle operator in Abia, identified as Lucky Okoro (Onye Photo) has won the hearts of many after returning N4 million forgotten by a female passenger in his vehicle.

According to Okoro, who hails from Umuomei in Obingwa Local Government area of the state, the incident occurred on Thursday morning.

He explained that the passenger, a Cameroonian woman, had boarded his tricycle from Aba Main Park to Ariaria Market but mistakenly left behind a bag containing the large sum.

Onye said, upon discovering the bag, he went in search of the woman at the park but couldn’t find her. He later traced her to Ariaria Market, where he found her in tears and reportedly contemplating suicide over the loss.

Onye said he immediately returned the money, comforted the distraught woman, and advised her to lodge in a hotel overnight to regain composure before continuing her journey.

In appreciation, the grateful woman paid for the hotel accommodation.

Despite being ridiculed by some of his colleagues who called him a ‘mugu’ (fool) for not keeping the money, Onye said he is proud of his action, adding that although he needs a new tricycle, he would never take what doesn’t belong to him.

He said, “I love what I did. It is true that Keke dey disturbs me, but I am happy. I need a new Keke, but not another woman’s money.”
