The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has announced the appointment of Fuji music star, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam 1, as an ambassador for airport security protocol.
Speaking in a statement on Wednesday, Keyamo, said the decision followed consultations with stakeholders in the aviation sector and a review of recent incidents involving unruly passengers, including the cases of Kwam 1 and Comfort Emmanson.
“Though regrettable, we think valuable lessons have been learnt by all sides to these incidents and airport security protocol, especially, have been well highlighted for the travelling public.
“If nothing at all, the episodes have undoubtedly helped to raise public awareness about appropriate conduct within the aviation space,” Keyamo said.
TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that the appointment is coming hours after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) petitioned the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) over his alleged misconduct aboard a ValueJet flight.
