Lagos State has recorded the death of the only female elected councillor for Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Honorable Zainab Adeshewa.
TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that Adeshewa, born 1996 died on Monday, 18th August, 2025 after a brief illness.
She was the only elected female councillor in the council and was inaugurated about three weeks ago.
Until her death, she represented Ward C3 in the 6th Legislative Arm of the LCDA and was the Chief Whip of the Legislative Arm.
Her death comes just days after the passing of Hon. Oluwakemi Rufai, who served as councillor for Ward C1 in Ibeji Lekki Local Government.
In barely a week, Lagos lost both women who were the only elected female councillors in their respective councils.
The two councillors were elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress and had been inaugurated roughly three weeks ago.
