Lets use sports to rekindle and reignite national pride and unity – NSF President Engr. Toke Aka

The President of Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF), Engineer Toke Aka, has appealed to the teeming and talented Nigerian youths to use sports and other God given talent to project the image of Nigeria worldwide.
The NSF President, made this appeal in his Easter message to the country on Saturday in Abuja.
“We are very talented and we have the numbers, so our youths should use the different sports that they are involved in to project the image of Nigeria to the rest of the world in a positive light.” Aka said.
He further enumerated the areas young talented youths have brought glory to the nation to sports, entertainment and education.
“In scrabble, football, basketball, athletes, table tennis, wrestling and many more, we have conquered the world and we shall continue to soar if adequately supported. The former Pan African Scrabble Association President stated.
“With our talent along with the lessons we learn from Our Lord Jesus Christ, ‘that is self sacrificing love and the willingness as well as the desire to do what is right’, our talented sports men and women will make Nigeria great again.” Engineer Toke Aka added.
“As a united people, we can achieve more and collectively we can solve our problems. Regardless of religion, political divide, or ethnic group, we should all continue to pray for peace in Nigeria.” The Kogi State born Sports administrator stressed.
The NSF President also used the opportunity to call on well meaning individuals, corporate organisations to identify with Scrabble Team Nigeria that is heading to Las Vegas, Nevada, USA in July for the WESPA Championship.
“We have done our World Championship trials and selected the best players in the country to represent us. I’m very confident that Team Nigeria will excel in USA.”
“The federal government is fully backing the team, all the necessary information for visa have been sent to the embassy and hopefully all members of the team will get their visas.”
Team Nigeria to the World Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA is loaded to the hilt with tested, trusted and talented wordsmiths that will rule the world come July.
Former World Champion and two time African Champion, Wellington Jighere, back to back African Champion, Dennis Ikekeregor, former African Champion Wale Fashina and Nsikak Etim as well as current African Champion Enoch Tochukwu Nwali are part of Team Nigeria squad.
West African Scrabble Champion Eta Paul Oghenekaro, Champion of Champions Olatunde Oduwole, Oluwatimilehim Doko, the West African University Games Champion, the finest and most talented female player of all time in the continent, Touyo Mayuku is also part of the NSF team to face the rest of the world.
Engineer Aka, also urge all sports Federations Presidents and Chairmen including all sports stakeholders to use this season to reflect on how they can add value to the Associations or Federations they are entrusted with.
