Accompanied by Hon. Godwin Bazari who represented Senator Magnus Abe, Mrs. Abe called on wives to take up their roles as the builders of the home, which she said is the basic unit of the society.

Advising the couple, she encouraged them to see communication as a vital part of their marriage and remain in contact with each other no matter how busy their various schedules may be.

“Communication in a marriage is very important. I’ve been married to my husband for some years and he’s a very busy person.

“But wherever he is, we always try to ensure that we talk to ourselves. It is very important that at all times, the wife knows where the husband is and the husband knows where the wife is.

“Keep your communication intact. Talk to yourselves and pray with yourselves,” she said.

She also admonished wives to pay attention to their husbands, stating that most mothers tend to get carried away when they start having children.

She noted that though children need all the love and care they can get, wives should not neglect their husbands, but show them love and care as well.

“Women always make a mistake especially when you have your first child, you’re overwhelmed that you’re now a mother, that God has given you life to take care of and forget your husband. Don’t let that happen. Love your husband.

“It is a woman’s place to keep her home. Remember that you are the strength, anchor and pillar of your marriage”, she added.

Barrister Bariyaah Abe further encouraged the bride to give her husband the necessary support and wished the couple many years of blissful marriage.
