The Man O’ War Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling insecurity across the country by leveraging its grassroots presence and long-standing tradition of volunteer service.
This was highlighted during a two-day workshop for National Command Officers of the organization, held at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC) Headquarters in Abuja.
Facilitator and seasoned instructor, Mr. Haleed Ibrahim, noted that Man O’ War Nigeria is uniquely positioned nationwide to complement the work of formal security agencies. He called for stronger collaboration, particularly in areas such as community surveillance, early warning systems, and intelligence sharing.
He also stressed the importance of continuous engagement with schools, religious institutions, and youth groups to curb violence, kidnapping, and other social vices.
Mr. Ibrahim further charged participants to return to their respective commands with renewed commitment to intelligence gathering, conflict resolution, and public sensitization on safety and civic responsibility.
As part of the workshop, new National Officers of Man O’ War Nigeria were officially inaugurated and decorated. According to the National Commander, NC Adedamola Gbenga, the officers will serve a four-year tenure.
In his congratulatory message, he urged them to be proactive, diligent, and focused on advancing the organization’s mandate.
The Director General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Ms. Rinsola Abiola, congratulated the new National Officers and applauded Man O’ War’s efforts in supporting the Centre’s mandates.
She commended their contributions to National Development and assured the officers of the Centre’s support for their welfare and operational needs. She pledged continued partnership to strengthen the organization’s impact.
In the same vein, the Director of Operations and Rescue, Dr. Alero Adjekota, urged the newly inaugurated officers to think outside the box and pursue innovative strategies for growth. She emphasized that with the DG’s support, Man O’ War is well-positioned for progress.
Also speaking, the Head of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, Alhaji Danjuma Ochidi, encouraged the officers to use their experience and wisdom to mentor the next generation. He recommended the integration of Man O’ War into school safety programs, citing its expertise in securing learning environments.
The Director of Training and Development, represented by Mr. Alex Akinnusi, highlighted the need for responsibility, leadership, and organizational efficiency. He congratulated the officers on their appointments and commended the steady growth and reputation Man O’ War has built over the years.
The new National Officers with the following individuals assuming key roles: The appointments include Ibiok Emmanuel Samuel as Deputy National Commander, Admin and Logistics; Mba Charles Ogbonnaya as Deputy National Commander, Operation and Rescue; and Ibrahim Haruna as Deputy National Commander, Finance and Account.
Other key appointments are Okere Innocent as Assistant National Commander, Intelligence and Information Gathering; Amen Rosemary Nkem as Assistant National Commander, Training; and Ibrahim Bello as Assistant National Commander, Public Relations, Communication, and Media.
Additionally, Akpabip Otu Akpabip was appointed Assistant National Commander, National Provost; Omokaro Monica Orobo as Assistant National Commander, Medical and Welfare. Regional Commanders appointed include Ashiru Buhari for NorthEast, Inanna Odeyovwi Michael for South South, Hussani Saleh for NorthWest, Carmellia Nwokoye Adizua for SouthEast, Adeojo Ayoade Kola for SouthWest, and Alibaba Muhammed Jimoh for North Central.
Regional Secretaries appointed are Adogama Michael Francis for NorthWest, Onwu Uzoma Collins for SouthEast, and Ibrahim Suleiman for SouthWest.
These appointments are expected to drive the organization’s growth and progress in their respective areas of responsibility.
