A video of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party(LP) in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi has caused a huge stir on social media.
The video which has become a growing sensation captured the moment the former governor was pictured serving food at an event called, ‘The Jubilee Of Hope’ yesterday, July 10th.
The viral footage captured the politician carrying several trays with plates of food as he went about serving the meals.
The video has since elicited mixed reactions, as many condemned the former presidential candidate for seeking attention, while others noted that what Obi did was a tradition in Igbo culture and had nothing to do with politics.
Media personality Morayo Brown in reaction, publicly urged President Bola Tinubu to take a leave of absence and permit Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party in 2023, to lead the country for six months.
She wrote: “Dear @officialasiwaajubat, please allow him become ppresident for 6 months while you take a leave of absence. Let’s even see what magic he wants to do. The desperation is rather sickening.”
While Noble Igwe, a media personality defended Obi, saying: “Everyday it becomes clearer that we were all raised differently.Where I come from, when someone close to you loses a loved one, you join them in serving food and drinks at the reception. I’m glad I don’t know most of you beyond this app.
“You cannot use your background to judge every Nigerian.The fact that you didn’t have a computer or a landline at home doesn’t reflect the reality of other families.You have the power to break the chain of poverty in your family today.”
Another user commented : “I love you PO but I no understand this one wey u dey do now o. My president. I no understand this one.”
