Ekaette Akpabio, the wife of the Godswill Akpabio has dismissed allegations of sexual harassment made against her husband by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
TheNewsGuru earlier reports that Natasha during an interview on Arise TV on Friday, February 28, 2025 disclosed that Akpabio, made several inappropriate advances towards her during a visit to his residence in Akwa Ibom.
Recounting the incident on Friday, the Kogi Central senator claimed that the encounter occurred in December, just a day before their respective birthdays.
She further alleged that her trouble in the Senate began after she rejected sexual advances from Akpabio.
However, reacting to the claims, Ekaette Akpabio, while speaking at her residence in Abuja on Friday, described the allegations as baseless and a product of Akpoti-Uduaghan’s imagination.
She also highlighted the long-standing cordial relationship between her family and that of the Kogi senator, implying that the accusations were inconsistent with their past interactions.
“The allegations are unfounded, as she was present at her family residence on the alleged date 8th December, 2023,” she said.
“Both families enjoy a long-standing cordial relationship that predates Senator Natasha’s marriage to her husband.”
Ekaette Akpabio further commended her husband, describing him as a disciplined man who deeply values and respects his family.
She emphasized his long-standing commitment to promoting women’s inclusion in governance, noting that his advocacy for gender representation predates his tenure as Senate President.
She further urged women to refrain from making unfounded accusations, warning that such false claims could undermine genuine cases of harassment. Ekaette also vowed to pursue legal action to address the allegations, stressing the importance of protecting her husband’s integrity.
