The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) is launching the second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, which aims to engage 21,782 individuals.
An update shared on their official Facebook page on Monday indicates that this phase will concentrate on offering vocational skills training, entrepreneurship education, and promoting rural employment for youth, adults, and individuals with special needs, as stated by the NDE.
This initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Employment comprehensive plan to address unemployment and boost economic growth.
The first phase of the program was deemed successful, empowering over 90,000 Nigerians.
For the upcoming phase, the NDE plans to work with a minimum of 21,782 beneficiaries, with the possibility of increasing that number as resources allow and states utilize their initial allocations.
The NDE has also enhanced its online registration portal for all participants.
According to the NDE’s Facebook announcement, the application portal can be accessed at www.nde.gov.ng.
The NDE emphasizes that the online application is free and no payment is required. They have urged the public to refrain from any financial transactions related to this process.
To apply, individuals must be Nigerian citizens and possess an acceptable form of identification, such as a National ID card or international passport.
Applicants should not be currently employed by any government or private organization.
Additionally, candidates must have at least five credits in WAEC/GCE/NEC or NABTEB, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings.
Applicants should be able to communicate effectively, have no criminal record, and ensure that any documents uploaded do not exceed 1 MB.
