A Nigerian media company has sued retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather for being absent from scheduled appearances.
The media company named Zinni Media, according to TMZ, alleged that Mayweather scammed them of the money they paid for booking him.
Zinni Media alleged that in June 2017, they booked him for appearances in Ghana and Nigeria to the tune of $375,000.
The company claimed that after the deal was made, Mayweather confirmed his appearances with the company through a video call.
They said he was immediately sent $210,000 advance but days before his first appearance he did not show up.
Zinni alleged further that there was an offer to reschedule for December 2017 with an increased price of $550,000. The company claimed they agreed but Mayweather once again did not show up and has not returned the $210K.
The company has reported the case to the federal court in California, demanding for a compensation of $2 million.
