Nollywood veteran Jerry Amilo has taken to social media to honor the memory of his late daughter, Chidera, who died on October 4, 2025, at just 14 years old.
The actor, who had earlier announced Chidera’s sudden passing on Instagram, said the loss left him “speechless” and feeling as though “a part of me” went with her.
Marking one year since her burial, Amilo penned an emotional tribute to his “angel,” expressing how deeply her absence continues to affect him:
His post reads: “Hello, Angel. Knock, knock, Heaven…
“It’s been a year since we laid you to rest. I hope Heaven is treating you well.
“My Angel, you can’t imagine what I go through every day since you left. Each time I think of you, my life pauses and tears flow nonstop.
“I try to act as though everything is fine, but my heart is filled with a million questions—asking God why so soon, why you, why me, why?
“As I write this with tears in my eyes, I know everyone who loved you feels the same. Rest on, my Angel. Please keep interceding for us before God Almighty, for love, mercy, and protection always.
“The space you left behind is so large, yet your love keeps shining as though you never left. The truth is we miss you more each day, and we can’t pretend. Chidera, are you coming back soon?”
