The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) says it has extended the service of two corps members in the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream one.
The state NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Sa’idu, confirmed the development in Katsina on Thursday.
According to Sa’idu, the corps members were given extension of service for various degrees of offences that contravene the NYSC bye-law.
He also said that two other corps members, Niss Adeifan-Eniebukun, and Joshua Amoswere-Agwale, were given state recognition for their outstanding performance.
He said that the two outstanding corps members were recognised “for executing various community-oriented projects in their host communities”.
Sa’idu said that during their passing out on Tuesday, which was low-key, 558 corps members received their Certificate of National Service, following their successful one-year mandatory service.
He urged the corps members to leverage the lessons they gained during the in-camp training on the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SEAD) programme.
He advised them to establish themselves gainfully instead of being idle and waiting for government jobs that are no longer available.
He advised the corps members to start doing something with what they have learnt under the post-camp SEAD training and not to procrastinate.
