Ogun Assembly commends TASUED’s federal status upgrade

The Ogun State House of Assembly has commended and extended its gratitude to the Federal Government for the decision to designate Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) as a federal university

Speaking under personal explanation during plenary in Abeokuta on Thursday, Mr Lukman Adeleye (PDP-Odogbolu) commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the institution’s takeover.

Adeleye described TASUED as Nigeria’s first university of education, saying its elevation to federal status was a great honour and a significant milestone for the institution.

The lawmaker also praised Gov. Dapo Abiodun for his role in expanding TASUED’s scope and ensuring its transition to a federal institution.

“I appreciate the governor for facilitating the institution’s release to the Federal Government, allowing for its growth.

“I also commend Senator Gbenga Daniel for his contributions to the process,” Adeleye said.

Responding, the Speaker, Mr Oludaisi Elemide (APC-Odeda), also applauded the President for his decision.

Elemide noted that the institution’s elevation would enhance development in the school, state, and country.

“We acknowledge the efforts of the President, the governor, and Senator representing Ogun East, along with all those involved in this achievement.

“This is a positive development for the state and a commendable gesture by the Federal Government,” he said.
