Delta State House of Assembly contestant, under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) of Ika South Local Government Area Constituency in the 2011 General Election, Osawe Chucks filed a suit challenging the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) whom he allegedly rigged the election and declare him the winner on the ground that he won the election.
The proceedings were clear going by the number of witnesses and evidence available for Osawe Chuks.
Unfortunately, he did not witness the tribunal judgment as he was assassinated on the 3rd of July, 2013 alongside with his son and daughter by unknown gunmen, save a son Osawe Monday who escaped the assassination.
According to his Elder brother, the gunmen sent a notice to Osawe’s family threatened not to rest until they get rid of the entire family, especially the only surviving son.
Supporters of the deceased came out en masse with placards protesting the death of Osawe.
