Panic as bus catches fire on Third Mainland Bridge

Traffic has partially been diverted on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos after a bus was gutted by fire.

TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) had to divert vehicles to two lanes inward Oworoshoki, following the incident that occurred around 3:58 p.m on Tuesday, August 19th.

In the footage shared on social media, captured motorists heading toward Oworoshoki being directed to the remaining two lanes on the right, while traffic officials managed the situation on site.

Confirming the development, LASTMA said efforts were ongoing to extinguish the fire and advised motorists to drive with caution.

“Report of a burning bus on Third Mainland bridge by Ilaje inward Iyana Oworo with men on ground managing the traffic situation,” the agency posted on its social media handle.

“Effort is ongoing to put out the fire. Please drive with caution on approach,” LASTMA added.
