The killer of right-wing youth leader, Charlie Kirk, has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, according to NBC news.

Robinson’s identity surfaced shortly after the United States President, Donald Trump, announced that the suspect had been taken into custody after a massive manhunt involving more than 20 law enforcement agencies.

Trump disclosed during a live Fox News interview, “Somebody very close to him turned him in.

“The person was involved with law enforcement, but was a person of faith, a minister, and brought him to a US Marshal who was fantastic. They drove into the police headquarters, and he’s there now. We have the person that we think is the person we’re looking for.”

Kirk, 31, was shot dead on Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University. Police said the assailant fired a single round from a rooftop 200 yards away, striking him in the neck.

According to investigators, the shooter escaped across a roof before vanishing into nearby woods, where a high-powered bolt-action rifle was later recovered.

Images released by the FBI on Thursday showed the suspect in Converse shoes, a black baseball cap, dark sunglasses, and jeans with a long-sleeved shirt featuring an American flag design.
