Police arrest 3 robbery suspects in Jigawa

The Police in Jigawa have arrested three robbery suspects in Kazaure Local Government Area of the state.

This is contained in a statement on Sunday in Dutse by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Lawan Shiisu.

Shiisu said the suspects were arrested in Kantoga village on Friday after they allegedly robbed some residents of the area.

“In a decisive effort to rid communities of criminal elements, the Jigawa State Police Command successfully arrested three suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Katoge Village, Kazaure Local Government Area.

“This followed a credible intelligence report and a swift response by operatives attached to the Kazaure Divisional Police, Operation Salama, Vigilante and community neighborhood watch.

“The three suspects were apprehended shortly after they terrorised some residents and disposed them of their belongings,” Shiisu said.

He explained that a locally made Dane gun, local ammunition, one motorcycle, two sheep, mattress, power bank and N50,000 cash were recovered from the suspects.

The PPRO added that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects  robbed one Nawaila, Mustapha Umar and Sani Kaska.

Shiisu said the suspects would be charged to court after the conclusion of its investigation.

While commending the officers and others involved in the operation,  he urged members of the public to continue to provide timely and credible information to the police.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
