Reps set to debate 2022 Budget Wednesday, Thursday

…plenary suspended to accommodate budget

The House of Representatives is set to debate general principles of the 2022 Appropriation Bill submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari last Wednesday and conclude it on Thursday.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports President Buhari had submitted a budget estimates of N16.39 trillion to a joint session of the National Assembly.

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, during plenary on Tuesday, said copies of the synopsis of the budget would be made available to the lawmakers so they can study it to prepare themselves for the debate.

He said those interested in debating should send their names to the clerk and indicate on which day they intend to debate.

He said thereafter, the House would suspend plenary sessions so that members can begin work on the budget at committee levels.
