Mohammed Yusuf Kulani, Permanent Secretary, Special Duties & Regional Intergration, Gombe State, has passed away, following electrocution from an electricity transformer surge.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the tragic transformer surge affected parts of Tudun-Wadan Pantami area of Gombe State on Friday night.
The transformer surge, it was gathered, left five (5) persons dead, including the permanent secretary, with 13 others injured.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya appointed Kulani from Balanga LGA as permanent secretary in the Gombe State civil service in November 2024. Kulani was swore in as permanent secretary in January 2025.
On Saturday, Governor Yahaya joined hundreds of sympathisers to attend the funeral prayers of the late permanent secretary at the specialist hospital Gombe.
Governor Yahaya, represented by the Head of Civil Service, Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, alongside top government officials were joined by relations, friends and well wishers of the deceased to observe the funeral prayer rites in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
Late Kulani a dedicated civil servant rose through the ranks to the top echelon of his career as Permanent Secretary before his untimely death.
The deceased was visibly seen on Friday at the opening ceremony and swearing in of the NYSC Batch “A” stream II when he accompanied the Deputy Governor of Gombe, Manassah Daniel Jatau, to the event along other dignitaries.
