[Updated] See new regulation that sent Adeboye, Kumuyi, others out of office as ‘General Overseers’

Some leading church founders in Nigeria maybe on their way out of office as General Overseers with the new legal requirements set up by the Financial Regulations Council, TheNewsGuru.com reports.

This is further confirmed as the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye announced his retirement and named a successor (Pastor Joshua Obayemi) during the RCCG Annual Ministers Thanksgiving service on Saturday (today) .

According to Adeboye who mentioned the regulation said that overseers of churches are now required to spend a certain period as Geneal Overseers.

However, TheNewsGuru.com as at the time of filing this report is yet to ascertain if the regulation disclosed by Adeboye was binding on ministers of RCCG only.

Meanwhile, if the new regulation extends to other churches, that interprets that other founders of registered churches, mosques, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) would also have a specified tenure of office to lead their organisations.
