Two TikTok users, Ahmad Isa and Maryam Musa were sentenced to one year in prison each, for sharing videos perceived to be offensive to religious and moral values.
Their arrest, TheNewsGuru understands comes after the Kano State Censorship Board accused the duo, of violating public decency through their social media posts.
During the court proceedings, prosecutor Garzali Maigari Bichi charged the defendants with criminal conspiracy and the dissemination of illicit content online.
When the charges were read to them, they both pleaded not guilty.
The presiding magistrate, Hadiza Muhammad Hassan in his sentencing also gave the convicts the option of fine in the sum of N100,000 and urged them to uphold good conduct.
