Pastor Mike Nwanegbo of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) spoke in defence of the preaching of his superior, General Overseer Enoch A Adeboye, who said anyone who doesn’t pay tithe would not enter heaven.
According to Nwanegbo, his friend’s wife was in a vision where she was barred from entering heaven because she wasn’t a tither. He criticised unconventional and controversial pastor Sunday Adelaja for faulting Adeboye’s “tithe for heaven” conclusion.
Nwanegbo quoted Malachi 3; 8-9 of the Holy Bible to buttress his point, the verse reads “8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.
“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’“In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me.”
