A video showing the moment the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organization Afenifere leader, the late Ayo Adebanjo, predicted his demise has surfaced on social media.
TheNewsGuru recalls that Pa Adebanjo died at his residence in Lekki, Lagos, on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the age of 96.
In the video that surfaced captured the Yoruba leader, and a woman’s voice, identified as his daughter, discussing his death and how his passing would be announced.
He was heard saying, “Ayo Adenbanjo, leader of Afenifere, the controversial man, is gone. He died at the age of 90-something. He spoke last to his daughter.”
The former organising secretary of the Action Group, and national leader of Afenifere, was a fearless advocate for democracy and justice.
The distinguished lawyer, is survived by his 94-year-old wife, Chief Christy Ayo-Adebanjo, along with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
