We will challenge the outcome of the election in court-Segun Oni

Former Governor of Ekiti state and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) gubernatorial candidate in the just concluded Governorship election in the state, Chief Segun Oni has rejected the results of the polls, saying that he will challenge it in court.

Oni made this known via a statement released by his collation agent and former attorney-general of the state, Owoseni Ajayi, posited that the polls result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)  is not a true reflection of the people’s mandate, lamenting that the entire process was marred by flaws and vote-buying.

Ajayi, who refused to sign the election results, said, “we are rejecting the results because the election was characterized by violence and intimidation of voters and as a result, we will definitely challenge the outcome of these results in the court of law for prosterity and for generation coming to know that when conducting elections, you must follow the rules and procedures.”

The NewsGuru.com reports that the  All Progressives Congress’  candidate Biodun Oyebanji was declared the winner of the election after polling 187,057 to defeat his closest rival, the SDP, which garnered 82,211 votes.
