Why I forgave, helped woman who beat up my late mother – Pastor Jerry Eze

The Senior Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Jerry Eze has taken to social media to recount his encounter with a woman who had physically assaulted his mother when he was a child.

The cleric via a post via on the microblogging platform, X formerly Twitter narrated how the woman, who previously was a neighbour, had come to him seeking help and prayers years after beating up his mother.

The pastor opened up while delivering a piece of advice on forgiveness and liberation, as he described the experience as a “traumatic memory” that had stayed with him for a long time.

Eze said he was faced with a difficult decision; to hold onto the past or extend forgiveness and help. He said he however decided to forgive and assist her.

He wrote: “So yesterday, I met a woman who beat up my late mum terribly. Anyone who knows me would know how much I adore my Mum. I was young and she was a young woman at the time and we lived in the same compound,.

“She threw my mum on the floor and hit her so hard. That memory traumatized me for so long. She showed up to see me yesterday to seek for help and ask for prayers and mentioned how NSPPD had changed her life.

“It’s amazing how I extended help to her and she broke down in tears. She remembered what happened, I remembered too, most importantly I had forgiven.

“Forgiveness is so liberating. I know it hurts, please forgive!!! The Holyspirit will help you. May God give you the grace to forgive right now in Jesus name.”
