AFL: Moroccan authorities clears air on Enyimba’s landing permit, CAF postpones match to Thursday

The Royal Morocco Football Federation FRMF has categorically denied report that Nigerian clubside Enyimba was denied landing authorization in the Kingdom on Monday.

According to the Moroccan authorities, DTA in charge of flights landing and take off, the request by Enyimba was received by 12 noon on Monday their supposed arrival date.

Continuing, they said they asked for additional information to update their data but didn’t get to them until past 6 in the evening and Tuesday morning at about 8:59 am.

They added that the landing permit was granted immediately the registration process was done.

Meanwhile,  findings show that a  40-man contingent of Enyimba International FC have been given the green light to land in Morocco.

There were issues about landing permit, as the  Moroccan aviation authorities were accused of  playing hide-and-seek game with the Nigerian champions over landing permit related issues, thus, delaying the People’s Elephants from traveling out Monday evening aboard their Air Peace airline chattered flight.

But at noon on Tuesday, the Nigerians received positive signal from Morocco to land in their facility.

“We’ve finally received the permission to land in Morocco”, an official gleefully told Exclusivenews.com.ng at 12:55pm Tuesday.

“We’re already boarding, having gone through the Immigration protocol”, the official said.

At the heat of the diplomatic imbroglio, Enyimba had written to CAF informing them of the development.

The People’s Elephant equally demanded CAF to effect a Shift in the date of the match in view of the situation on ground.

However, the Confederation of African Football CAF has moved Enyimba, Wydad match to Thursday instead of the initial date of Wednesday.

The match will be played at the same time.
