Father kills daughter in alleged obedience to God’s directive [Video]

A father who claimed he was obeying God’s directive on Wednesday murdered his nine-month-old daughter in Tse-Agberagba community in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State.

It was learnt that the father, John Depuun, had forcefully snatched his daughter from the mother on the fateful day and headed straight to a bush in Mbangur, Tse-Agberagba, where he was said to have offered the baby as a ‘sacrifice’ to God.

The locals said the man confessed to have killed his child in obedience to God’s command and that no one should condemn him for doing so as the child was his and not anyone else’s baby.

Some villagers however said the man maybe mentally unstable but that hasn’t been confirmed at the time of this report.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Moses Joel Yamu, confirmed the incident, adding that the man had been arrested and that investigation was ongoing.

Yamu said other details would unfold soon as the suspect arrived the police headquarters in Makurdi.
