Nigerians react over notice banning Uber, Bolt from picking passengers from airports

Nigerians have reacted over a notice allegedly emanating from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) that seek to ban ride-hailing services such as Uber and Bolt from picking up passengers from airports across the country.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports a public notice printed on a sign post and mounted at an undisclosed airport has since gone viral with many Nigerians rejecting the directive on the sign post.

Meanwhile, the FAAN has denied it is banning any ride-hailing services from picking up passengers from airports across the country.

“The message did not originate from FAAN. Uber and taxify are free to drop passengers at our airports,” the airports authority stated.

FAAN, however, didn’t say whether or not the ride-hailing services are allowed to pick up passengers.

However, FAAN did confirm that the sign post has been removed from the airport.

“Thank you for feedback, the sign post has been removed, be assured the issue would be addressed,” FAAN confirmed.
