Chief Joseph. O. Okpara (JP), father of Hon. Kenneth Okpara, former Delta Commissioner for Finance is dead.
Until his death, late Opara bears the Okarorho title (oldest man) of Eku kingdom (Ogisi) in Delta State – he reigned on the throne of the Eku ancestors for five years (2015 – 2019).
Announcing the centenarian’s passing at the weekend, his son, Kenneth wrote, “My Beloved Father, Chief, Odjisi Joseph Ojakovo Okpara has transited to the great beyond, as an Okarorho (Traditional Ruler) of my Community, Eku, we say “Okpe Aka”!!! He reigned on the throne of our Eku Ancestors for about 5 years ( beginning of 2015 to end 2019), one of the longest-reigning Okarorho in Eku in the recent years.
We give God all the glory for giving you Papa longevity (lived 107 years) and for God’s abundant blessings upon you and your family, your reign brought peace and great progress to Eku Community. May your soul rest in perfect peace. Papa, Akpokedefaaaaaaa!!!”
